CBD and Delta 8 FAQ

What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol.  CBD is derived from the hemp plant.  Many use CBD to aide in their lives with many issues.

How does CBD work?

Humans and animals all have what is called an Endocannabinoid System.  Within our Endocannabinoid System are 2 binding receptors.  CB1 and CB2 are the names of these receptors.  When consuming CBD (smoking, vaping, eating, tinctures, drinking.. etc), CBD finds the receptors and goes to work. . . Each receptor is known to be for certain areas within our bodies.  (The CB1 receptor is for your central nervous system.  The CB2 receptor is for your organs.)

Does CBD contain THC?

CBD CAN contain up to 0.3% delta-9 THC.

Is there CBD that doesn't contain THC?

Yes there are CBD products that do not contain THC. (Look at Broad Spectrum CBD or Isolates).

What different types of CBD is there?

There are Broad Spectrum CBD products, Full Spectrum CBD products, and also isolate CBD products.

What is Broad Spectrum CBD?

Broad-spectrum CBD contains a range of naturally occurring compounds from the cannabis plant, but typically no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

Full Spectrum CBD contains all of the cannabinoids from the hemp plant that can include up to 0.3% Delta-9 THC.

What is Isolate CBD?

CBD isolate is another form of CBD, or cannabidiol.  CBD isolate is a chemical compound that is found within the cannabis plant. CBD isolate does not contain any THC (THC is the psychoactive component of cannabis).

What is Delta-8 THC?

Delta-8 THC is commonly known in these abbreviations:  D8, D8 THC, Delta8, Delta-8, Delta-8 THC,  Δ8,  Δ8 THC.

Δ8 tetrahydrocannabinol is a cannabinoid that is a natural cannabinoid that is present in Hemp. It is similar in effect to ∆9 tetrahydrocannabinol as it is psychoactive.  Δ8 can be present in both the Hemp plant and the Marijuana plant.

In the Hemp industry, ∆8 THC is obtained by performing an isomeric process to CBD isolate, or extraction from hemp biomass. Δ8 THC is naturally derived through this process, making Delta-8 THC NOT a synthetic product.

Δ8 THC on the Hemp side of Cannabis is federally legal to sell in the United States, with the exception of a few states.

What is Delta-9 THC?

Delta-9 THC is commonly known in these abbreviations:  D9, D9 THC, Delta-9, Delta9, Delta-9 THC,  Δ9,  Δ9 THC.  Delta-9 THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the cannabinoid within the marijuana plant and up to 0.3% of Delta-9 THC can be present in the Hemp plant (not enough THC to effect you psycho-actively in the Hemp plant).  It is the cannabinoid that makes you "high".

Does CBD get you "high"?

Although some CBD products do contain up to 0.3% of Delta-9 THC, the amount of that cannabinoid is not enough to get you "high".

How are CBD companies able to sell products with Delta-9 THC?

According to the 2018 Farm Bill, any hemp product with less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC is considered just that... a HEMP product.  Any product with more than 0.3% Delta-9 THC is considered a Marijuana product and not allowed to be sold federally.  Some states have different laws.  Pay attention to your individual state laws if you have any concerns.

Can you fail drug tests using CBD?

With Full Spectrum CBD products, they can contain a small trace of up to 0.3% of Delta-9 THC.  This can have the ability of failing a drug test.

We recommend you using a Broad Spectrum product, or an isolate product.  We also recommend that you familiarize yourself with any CBD product you are purchasing.  Find the lab results to see if THC is found in the product, no matter if it is Broad Spectrum or Isolate.  We want you to make sure for yourself that this product doesn't contain THC.

Is CBD addictive?

CBD is not addictive.  You can stop using CBD and you will not have any withdraw symptoms.  You will notice your personal issues showing themselves again when you stop CBD.  (i.e. if you use CBD to aide your anxiety, and you have seemed to find that it has helped you.. when you stop using your CBD, the anxiety will become apparent again)

Can you give CBD to pets?

Absolutely!  CBD comes in treats, tinctures, creams, sprays etc. for animals.

How do you dose your pet?

A simple dosing example is 1mg of CBD per every 10 pounds.  Just like humans, an animal may need a little more than this example provides.

How do you know how many milligrams of CBD is in 1ml of tincture oil?

In order to know how much CBD is in 1ml of tincture oil, you can follow this math.

Per a 30ml bottle, if you have 1000mg's in the bottle total, divide 1000 by 30.

There is 33.3mg's in 1ml of a 30ml bottle.  (1000mg / 30ml = 33.3mgs)
